Having recently discovered this rocky gem of North Yorkshire, Brimham Rocks has quickly become one of our most favourite choices for a family day out. And today was just the perfect sunny day to revisit this beguiling area of beauty.
Many a keen walker, rambler, soul finder, toddler, dreamer, nervous hand-in-marriage asker will have, and will continue to, visit the amazing Brimham Rocks. Of late it has been broadcast on the BBC Radio 4 Programme The Nidderdale Way: Brimham Rocks to Pateley Bridge (June 2017) and claimed the number 49 spot on ITV’s Britain’s favourite walks in February this year.
The amazing rock formations, secret tunnels and paths take you through a different adventure from rock to rock, in every season
And with vistas that stretch the length and breadth of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, on this – that’s more like it Spring – day you could literally see for miles and miles…
And just before leaving for home, I stopped and chatted to a dear couple, who have been visiting Brimham Rocks for years:
The dear couple: ‘Is this your first time here?’
Me: ‘We have visited a few times already’
The dear couple: ‘It looks completely different in every season…wait until the summer when all the leaves are on the trees and the flowers are out, it’s just beautiful!’
And we can’t wait for our next adventure to Brimham Rocks, to experience it’s new summer vista.
